Hand and Heart
Set into the caves of Nottingham on Derby Road, right in the city centre, is the Hand & Heart. This beautiful pub and restaurant, ornately finished in dark wood and forking into two vaulted caverns, serves superb food, locally sourced wherever possible, a wide choice of wines and Champagnes, and beers from over ten local breweries. Upstairs is the Hand and Heart Gallery, which provides a social and discursive environment for the exhibition of Contemporary Art, specialising in fine art, film and video and photography, whilst hosting events such as live music, lectures and workshops. The gallery has a continually busy programme of events and exhibitions spanning all cultural interests. In addition to this there is a newly acquired extensive art-house, independent and world cinema DVD collection available for rental from the gallery.
With a newly established events schedule and something set to take place every single night at the Hand and Heart, this is sure to be one of the most interesting and creatively vibrant new venues to emerge for some time. With events ranging from live Jazz music every Tuesday night to premieres of new, and screenings of oldschool, Skateboarding vids, along with an experimental music night on a Friday and Psychedelic music on a Saturday, eclecticism is something certainly not lacking from the Hand and Heart’s repertoire, so be sure to keep an eye on goings on at this new and exciting place.
