Written by Sandi Toksvig, this play gives us an eye-widening account of the issues faced by modern soldiers when imposing military occupation.

A patrol of young soldiers is investigated for the fatality of a local boy during the British army presence in Afghanistan in the early 21st century. The investigating officer, a veteran of the Falklands war of the 1980s, is drafted into Afghanistan, but is deeply troubled by the discoveries made in the process of the investigation. They raise painful echoes of the Falklands.

The young soldier under investigation is similarly traumatised. Under the threat of a court martial, the soldier is sent home for treatment and therapy. Can this difficult situation be dealt with either by the officer or the subject?

Contains adult language, some of it racist, sound effects of war (e.g. bombs, gunshots) and flashing lights. This play reflects on Post Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD).

This amateur production is presented by arrangement with Nick Hern Books.
