You’re invited to drop into our Creative Courtyard and make something inspired by the museum collection.

 

Our creative sessions are free and open to all. Join us to make and create together and contribute to our growing museum! The sessions will be led by artists, makers, and writers, all influenced by this unique museum. Although these sessions are free, please book your ticket

 

Friday 2 August – Mascots of Hope
Cut, sew, stick, and create with storyteller and artist Alison Solomon and make a cuddly toy from cast-off socks and gloves.

 

Friday 9 August – Social Change Word Collages
With poet Leanne Moden you will be gently guided through a creative writing session to make an inspired word-based collage.

 

Friday 16 August – From Handcuffs and Ankle-tags to Bracelets and Anklets
In this bracelet-making workshop with Michelle Hubbard, you will identify words of positivity, as a reminder of the privilege of freedom.

 

Friday 23 August - Collective imagining through clay
Small intimate sculpting workshop, looking at intuitive ways of furnishing everyday environments with Klara Szafranska. This workshop will reimagine personal objects.

 

Friday 30 August - Discover Your Surroundings
A mindful and experimental photography workshop exploring black and white photography with socially engaged artist and Co-production Creative Leader Ismail Khokon. for the session you would like to attend.
