In 1978, Jeff Wayne composed, produced and released his Musical Version of 'The War of The Worlds', achieving extraordinary success and multiple awards. 42 years later after several global Arena tours, an extended run in the West End at The Dominion Theatre and also a brand new Immersive Experience, The People's Theatre Company are proud to be performing Jeff's iconic Musical Version of the 'The War of The Worlds'. With a full orchestra and 2 hours' worth of CGI, as well as a cast of amazing performers, don't miss your chance to watch this incredible performance.
The story is told through the eyes of George Herbert, The Journalist, who recounts his survival of The Great Martian Invasion six years earlier.
The dark Victorian tale begins after he spots several bursts of green gas erupting from Mars and is told by Ogilvy the astronomer that there's nothing to worry about. But it soon transpires that these bursts of green gas are Martian cylinders on their way to invade Earth.
As The Journalist fights to survive, he meets The Artilleryman, Parson Nathaniel and The Parson's wife Beth, plus searches for his fiancée, Carrie who he's lost amongst the Massacre of Mankind. Will the Martians win? Will the Humans be able to fend off the Martian Fighting Machines and their Heat Rays? Or will Humanity be engulfed in the Martian's deadly vegetation, The Red Weed?
