Please join us at Nottingham Contemporary before the Reclaim The Night march for a free print and banner making workshop. Make your own shirts, bags and placards as well as contributing to the collective banner that will be taken on the march. This is a wonderful opportunity to come together with other women in Nottingham in a stand against violence and harassment against women.
Please note: You can still attend this workshop if you are unable to make the march.
All women inclusive of those who are trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming are welcome to the event. Children of all genders are welcome if they are aged under 12 years. Children aged over 12 years are welcome if they are girls, inclusive of trans, non-binary and gender non-conforming young people. Please note, sensitive themes may be raised as part of this workshop.
The workshop is being facilitated by Associate Artists Amelia Daiz and Charlotte Tupper.
Booking is advised, but we do also welcome drop-ins on the day.
On Saturday 19th October 2024, hundreds of women will march across the country in protest of violence and harassment against women. The march has been a necessary protest for the last 40 years.
The annual march has a rich history in Nottingham of demonstrating the support and demand for safer streets for women at night, and an even bigger future. Nottingham's Reclaim the Night protest is organised by fantastic local grass roots organisations – Nottingham Women's Centre, Juno Womens Aid, Equation, and Notts Sexual Violence Support Service.
For more information, please visit the Nottingham Reclaim The Night website.
The workshop will be held in The Space.
This event is wheelchair accessible.
If you have any questions around access or have specific access requirements we can accommodate, please get in touch with us by emailing info@nottinghamcontemporary.org or phoning 0115 948 9750.
