Join us for a Wednesday Walkthrough – a gallery tour where artists, experts, researchers and academics give short talks in their field of expertise relating to the concepts explored in our exhibition.

This summer Nottingham Contemporary will present three solo exhibitions by Kresiah Mukwazhi, Abbas Zahedi and Eva Kotátková. In this walkthrough our Chief Curator Nicole Yip and Assistant Curator Niall Farrelly will discuss some of the key concepts and ideas presented in the exhibitions.

Kirawa is the first institutional solo exhibition by the Zimbabwean artist, Kresiah Mukwazhi. The work is informed by her personal experiences and observations of gender-based violence, exploitation and abuse.

Abbas Zahedi’s exhibition Holding a Heart in Artifice is composed from a newly commissioned installation and engagement programme and continues his ongoing investigations into care, grief and contemporary philosophy.

Eva Kotátková’s exhibition consists of an entirely new body of commissioned work which centres on the tale of a young giraffe called Lenka. The exhibition will explore this story and all its metaphorical possibilities and is co-developed by Nottingham Contemporary’s Learning and Exhibitions teams, engaging with local communities and audience groups.
