A year after their Celebration of Life for the late community champion Dr Rose Thompson, The Rose Thompson Foundation returns for a dazzling night of celebration, honouring their late founder, and celebrating their passionate community of supporters.
On Saturday 2nd November, The Rose Thompson Foundation will take over Nottingham Council House for an evening of dinner, drinks and dancing as they host their inaugural RTF Charity Dinner and Ball.
Founded in 2009 (as BME Cancer Communities), the organisation now celebrates 15 years of turning their passion into action, supporting global majority and low-income communities affected by cancer. In memory of the legacy of their founder, the inspirational Dr. Rose Thompson, the charity invites you to join them in heralding a brand new era as The Rose Thompson Foundation.
Hosted in the prestigious Nottingham Council House’s dining and ballrooms, this black-tie event will feature live entertainment from the fantastic Davina Songbird and the Nottingham Community Choir. Guests will enjoy cocktails on arrival, a three-course silver service meal, followed by presentations and prize draws, before dancing the night away with the incredible DJ Robert.
Lindsay Thompson, CEO of The Rose Thompson Foundation and the late Dr Rose’s husband shared his reflections on the charity’s journey so far:
“Our founder, Rose Thompson, had a passion and a drive to improve cancer care and related health services for patients and carers. Her personal and professional experience with cancer governed her vision and motivated her mission. She devoted her life to fighting cancer inequalities both as an allied health professional and as a patient.
She left behind a legacy of achievements and accomplishments that inspired many people in the cancer community. We are therefore committed to making this vision a reality by turning this passion into action!”
With this powerful legacy in mind, the RTF Charity Dinner and Ball will become an annual tradition of celebrating the vibrant communities and individuals who have supported the organisation’s work over the last 15 years. This event will also serve the foundation’s endeavours to raise funds for their future work, in particular, the creation of a state-of-the-art cancer resource centre in Rose Thompson’s name.
