This powerful gathering is part of Himmah’s "Love Nottingham, No Place for Hate" campaign, and marks the launch of Hate Crime Awareness Week and the establishment of the Race Equality Justice Commission, a joint partnership between Himmah and Pilgrim Social Action.
This event is in response to hateful and divisional riots in August. Together, we’ll stand against division and fear by singing Bob Marley’s "One Love" and hearing from key community leaders, including Saj (Himmah Director), the Police & Crime Commissioner, the Council’s Portfolio Holder for Communities, and Clive Foster (Pilgrim Social Action).
Himmah are inviting local organisations and members of the public along to join then and also to join their fundraising efforts to launch the commission by creating a JustGiving page.
