Nottingham film club Porlock Press is proud to present a special one-night only screening of Phil Tippett’s fantasy horror masterpiece MAD GOD.
This is essential viewing for all fans of horror, animation and the surreal.
A mysterious masked figure known as The Assassin descends into a nightmare realm of ruined cities and terrifying creatures. Armed with only a lantern, map and briefcase he ventures deep through the underworld towards an unnamed goal.
As he reaches his destination The Assassin’s mission is revealed, which sets off a series of events that have cataclysmic and cosmic consequences.
Written, produced and directed by Oscar-winning animator and visual effects mastermind Phil Tippett (Star Wars, Jurassic Park, RoboCop), MAD GOD delivers a potent vision of a Miltonesque hellscape littered with rusted factories, mad scientists and ungodly monsters (including a live-action acting role from film director Alex Cox, best known for 80’s cult classic Repo Man).
Painstakingly crafted over a period of 30 years using stop-motion animation techniques, Tippett’s magnum opus is a true labour of love packed with creative invention and meticulous detail.
MAD GOD demands to be seen in all its gruesome glory up on the big screen!
Please note there will be no trailers before this screening.
MAD GOD will begin after a short video introduction from director Phil Tippett and composer Dan Wool, recorded specially for this event!
