Pickleball Beginner and Improver Sessions

Pickleball Comes to Radcliffe on Trent with LOCO Pickleball!

Exciting news for Radcliffe on Trent residents!

Pickleball, one of the fastest-growing sports worldwide, touches down at the South Notts Academy Sports Hall on Saturday 1st February, 2.30pm-4pm, courtesy of LOCO Pickleball. Whether you’re a beginner or an experienced player, this fun and accessible sport is perfect for all ages and abilities.

So, what is pickleball? A unique mix of tennis, table tennis and badminton, pickleball is played on a badminton-sized court with a paddle and a perforated plastic ball. It’s easy to learn, is mainly underarm, and offers a great way to stay active whilst enjoying a highly social experience.

Loco Pickleball sessions combine expert coaching and free play, making them ideal for everyone. Pickleball England accredited Club Instructors, Carol Whittington and Lorraine Cockell lead the sessions, providing friendly guidance to help you quickly learn and improve your skills in a fun, supportive and safe environment. With all equipment provided and low entry costs, it has never been easier to give this exciting new sport a try.

On 1st February 2025 at 2.30pm we are running a 90 minute taster session, which is suitable for complete beginners.

Running alongside the taster session, we also have an improver session, which is ideal for those who have already played the game and are familiar with basic technique, game rules, and the scoring system. At the improver session we coach a new skill or tactic, and arrange fun, friendly, and competitive games with people of a similar standard.

Regular weekly improver sessions commence at the South Notts Academy Sports Hall from 2.30pm to 4pm from Saturday 15th February. Anyone attending the taster session on 1st February (or any other LOCO Pickleball taster session), or anyone with experience playing pickleball, may book onto the improver session.

The session fee for a 90 minute taster or improver session is £10.00 per person.
