Paul Hart’s photographs explore our relationship with the landscape. See a series of his atmospheric tree portraits and be transported to the depths of the forest.
Paul Hart has photographed the natural world for over thirty-five years. This series of photographs was taken over a period of three years, on repeated visits to the same ageing pine forest plantation in Ladybower Reservoir, Derbyshire.
Hart’s intensive portrayals of forests and woodlands are created using large and medium format film cameras and printed using traditional darkroom techniques. A book of photographs from the Truncated series was published in 2009 and is now held in important collections such as the V&A Museum Collection, TATE Library and the Martin Parr Foundation Library.
