Nottingham Operatic Society invites you to enter a world of pure imagination as Charlie and the Chocolate Factory arrives at the Theatre Royal in 2025!
This scrumdiddlyumptious musical is based on the beloved books by Roald Dahl, and the 1971 film starring Gene Wilder.
The show originally opened in 2013 at the Theatre Royal Drury Lane, and ran for over 3 years before moving to Broadway, it has also just finished its recent UK tour.
With new songs by Marc Shaiman and Scott Wittman (Hairspray) alongside original songs from the film ‘The Candy Man’ and ‘Pure Imagination’, this heartwarming, magical story is a perfect treat for October half-term.
The reclusive Willy Wonka, chocolate maker extraordinaire agrees to open his marvellous, mysterious factory for the first time to the winners of five golden tickets, hidden in Wonka chocolate bars. Here is the story of young Charlie Bucket who joins four other children on a marvellous life-changing journey through chocolate waterfalls, dancing squirrels and of course the Oompa-Loompas who run the factory.
