They've got a wicked opportunity for you arty lot..
Are you one of them arty boggers? We know how flippin’ fantastic it is when an opportunity comes for you to nuture yer talents, and Enabling Innovation and NTU have a pretty snazzy one.
They’re on the lookout for proposals from artists and designers in the Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire areas, for those who fancy a short-term residency in the swanky Creative and Virtual Technologies Research Lab.
You can get yer mitts on the facilities they have there, such as access to technologies such as virtual reality, laser cutting, 3D scanning and 3D printing machines.
Professor Benachir Medjdoub will be at your service to give you academic supervision, so you can learn from a proper expert.
For all the techie help you might need for all them whirlin’ machines, you'll get two hours a week of support to get the hang of ‘em.
The residences will be fully subsidised by Enabling Innovation. You’ll also be provided with any materials you might need to create the good stuff, up to the value of two-hundred quid.
Sound right up your alley? Course it does. All you gotta do is type up one side of A4 answering a bit abaht yoursen, a description describing what you wanna do during the residency (make sure it engages digital and 3D design technologies), and how NTU can support your stuff. Digital design is like 3D modelling and Virtual and Augmented Reality. That kinda thang.
The deadline for proposals is Sunday 23 September, so get yer computer fired up and start bashing that keyboard.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
