The biggest film and television convention to grace the East Midlands is back, and we’re pretty excited.
This year’s EM-Con Nottingham is happening at Motorpoint Arena on Saturday 4 - Sunday 5 May. Among the array of fine acting prowess, expect to see Shaun of the Dead star Nick Frost, original Green Power Ranger Jason David Frank and a decent chunk of the Star Trek’s USS Enterprise crew. Here’s a quick rundown of some more faces you can see...
Nick Frost
Best known for starring in the 2004 cult zombie film Shaun of the Dead, British actor, author, director and producer Nick Frost is amongst the biggest names to appear at this year’s EM-Con. He’s recently featured in season three of Into the Badlands, currently one of AMC’s most popular shows
Toby Stephens
Toby is currently featuring as former US Navy SEAL John Robinson in the hugely successful Netflix show Lost in Space. He is also recognised for his role as Bond villain Gustav Graves in Die Another Day and as Captain Flint in the Starz original series Black Sails
Sylvester McCoy
The Scottish actor is best known as the seventh incarnation of the Doctor in the critically acclaimed original television series Doctor Who, a role he held from 1987-89. More recently, he bagged the role as Wizard ‘Radagast the Brown’ in the big screen adaptations of J.R.R. Tolkien’s The Hobbit
Brent Spiner
This guy found major acting success following his portrayal of Data – the endearing android Lieutenant – in the television series Star Trek, which also won him the Saturn Award for Best Supporting Actor. Another notable performance was his role as Dr. Brakish Okun in Independence Day
Benedict Wong
Across theatre, film and television, Benedict Wong’s acting career spans two decades. In his early career he was Guo Yi in Steven Frears’ 2002 Oscar-nominated British Drama Dirty Pretty Things. Recently, he’s become a fan-favourite for his parts in Doctor Strange and Avengers: Infinity War
Ingrid Oliver
Ingrid Oliver is known for her role as scientist assistant Petronella Osgood in the BBC television series Doctor Who, and for appearing in Angus, Thongs and Perfect Snogging. Also a gifted comedian, Ingrid makes up one half of the comic double act Watson & Oliver
Nicholas Brendon
Nicholas made a name for himself after being cast as Xander Harris in the hugely successful, award-winning American supernatural drama Buffy the Vampire Slayer. He is also known for appearing alongside Bradley Cooper in Kitchen Confidential, and his role as technical analyst Kevin Lynch in Criminal Minds
Marina Sirtis
Following her casting as Counselor Deanna Troi in Star Trek: The Next Generation, British-American actress Marina Sirtis went on to feature in a succession of the very popular Star Trek films including Star Trek: Generations, Star Trek: First Contact and Star Trek: Nemesis
