We found the best Christmas Market stalls so you don’t have to.

The Filthy Vegan
Already a staple on the take-out scene since their online launch earlier this year, you’ll find this banging all vegan comfort food stall opposite the ice rink. Here you can get filthy rich soy kebabs stuffed inside a naan with homemade garlic mayo and all the salad you could wish for. Or try a Moving Mountain hot dog made of sunflower seeds, daily rotating soups or homemade cakes set to please all dietary requirements. Owners James and Joe also collaborate with local businesses, serving up Outpost Coffee and a selection of Doughnotts doughnuts. So why not pop by for a chat with the friendly staff and learn about meat alternatives while watching people stack it ice skating?

Yorkshire Pudding Wraps
Now we know you’ve already tried these but that doesn’t mean the infamous spin on wraps should be skipped this year. Get yerself a Christmas Special filled with roast potato, turkey and all the trimmings you want: stuffing, cranberry sauce, green beans and gravy are all on offer. They’ve also got roast beef, hot ham and little sausages to wrap up inside soft Yorkshire pudding wraps if turkey doesn’t tickle your fancy. It might not be the best-looking meal you’ve ordered but it’ll certainly soak up all that mulled wine from the Sur La Piste bar.

Let’s Go Dutch Pancakes
Where better to satisfy a sweet craving than with a pitstop at this new edition to Nottingham’s Winter Wonderland? Tiny circular pancakes are made fresh to order and while still steaming hot are topped with pretty much anything you could want. We went for a classic strawberry and nutella combo, but you can treat yo’self to a Lotus spread and crushed Lotus biscuits, an Oreo Overload or even something smothered in peanut butter and Reese’s Pieces if yer felt like going all out. The orange themed stall is tucked away next to the Confection Perfection fudge stall.

The Cherry Tree
This family-run preserves stall will knock any chutneys you’ve picked up in the random aisle in Aldi out the park. Making chutneys, marmalades and curds since 1997, this Somerset based business is now also showcasing its own cheeses although these were sold out when we visited. Their lip-smackingly good preserves, however, are enough to draw a crowd by themselves. Try the Spicy Tomato & Caramelised Onion Chutney for something classic, the Chili & Pineapple Chutney for something different, the Plum & Mulled Wine Preserve for a winter jam, or the Gooseberry & Elderflower Extra Jam for a reminder of spring. Just don’t buy all the Passionfruit Curd as I need to stock up after already wolfing down my first jar.

Love Chocolate
What’s the thing missing at the end of a hard day eating Christmas scran? A hot choccie and some indulgent sweets and treats. Well luckily Love Chocolate’s got all of that for you. Nab yourself a pot of strawberries and marshmallows to stick under the chocolate fountain or go for some pre-made chocolate covered marshmallow sticks topped with goodies such as Kinder chocolate or Terry’s Chocolate Orange pieces. Want to wash the whole thing down with a Cadbury’s hot chocolate - no problem, whipped cream and flake are included in the price.

Nottingham's Winter Wonderland is on until Tuesday 31 December.
