Metronome Announces New Series of Virtual Events Starting in March

After the success of the first fully-virtual Nottingham Poetry Festival in November, as well as their live-streamed gigs, the Metronome Sessions will see the Notts venue host a new series of virtual events beginning this March...


Metronome have announced an exciting, eclectic series of virtual events, the first three of which will take place this March. The Metronome Sessions, which follow on from the success of the their live-streamed gigs - including Unknown Era - and the first virtual Nottingham Poetry Festival at the end of last year. 

The three events cost just £5 each, and are available on a pay-per-view basis. As well as the gigs themselves, the ticket will also grant access to Q&As with industry guests and masterclasses with top record producers and artists. 

With more events set to be announced soon, here's what they've got confirmed up so far:

Tuesday 2 March - Simon Raymonde

The first Metronome Sessions events will see Simon Raymonde (Bella Union/Cocteau Twins) in a live-streamed Q&A with BBC Radio's Dean Jackson. As well as offering invaluable advice for the next generation of musical talent, Simon will be discussing his journey through the music business as both an artist and a record label founder, as well as his thoughts on the future of the industry. 

Monday 8 March - Marta Salogni

Next up is world-renowned producer/engineer Marta Salogni, who will be critiquing mixes in a masterclass. Having worked with the likes of Bon Iver, Bjork and Dream Wife, Salogni will also be talking about her own processes, from engineering through to production and mixing. Ticket holders will have the opportunity to submit their mixes for Salogni to listen to and offer feedback from her extensive experience of working with some of the most talented alternative musicians in the world. Anyone who wants to have their mix critiqued by Marta Salogni have until Monday 1 March to submit.

Friday 19 March - Natalie Duncan and Ajay Henry

Local singer/songwriters Natalie Duncan, whose influences include from blues, soul and R&B, and Ajay Henry, who combines timeless melodic songwriting with a modern production style, will both be performing sets live-streamed from Metronome. 

All ticket holders to Q&A’s and masterclasses will be invited to a private Zoom meeting where they will get a chance to ask questions. Confetti/NTU students will be able to access the Q&A’s and Masterclasses for free.
