Hand-crafted, artisan chocolates, beautiful baked treats and fresh, tasty coffees - what's not to love?

I'm sure an introduction to Studio Chocolate isn't needed for most people in Nottingham, but for those of you who don't know about the hype that is this chocolate studio, it's situated in Cobden Chambers (a small colourful alleyway just off of Pelham St) and is well worth a visit.

Many of you will have seen owner and chocolatier Ellie's friendly face in the shop (as well as Grace's!) serving seasonal coffees and boxing up beautiful chocolate boxes. After growing up with a dad who was always experimenting in the kitchen, Ellie's early inspiration began as a teenager when she started baking for friends and family. Impressively, she then went on to study the Diplôme de Pâtisserie at Le Cordon Bleu London, and after a trip to Belgium and seeing all of the chocolate shops on offer, Studio Chocolate was born in 2016.

We are having a huge change up in our products this year! It’s really exciting and we’ve been working on it all for the last few months

Excitingly, the studio also run workshops. Perfect for hen-dos, team building, children's parties, couples, or simply for anyone who is interested in a cute day learning about making their very own chocolate - everyone is welcome! The classes run most days and offer everything from learning how to make signature chocolate, macarons, your own 'showstopper', and a more technical class for those who are keen for something more advanced. Prices start from £40 for adults.

With Christmas around the corner, and with the cost-of-living crisis in full effect, Ellie is hoping that people will still be flocking to her store to buy chocolates in the coming months as it's usually the busiest time of year for them and, like most businesses, they are reliant on Christmas sales. All independents are under pressure right now but the studio is doing their best not to raise costs for customers - so this is definitely a business worth supporting.

When asking Ellie if there is anything that we, the people of Nottingham, should know, she says: "We are having a huge change up in our products this year! It’s really exciting and we’ve been working on it all for the last few months. All will be revealed in the next few weeks!"
