Yomi Sode featuring GOBS Collective
When: Sunday 28 May, 7.30-10pm
Where: Royal Concert Hall
How much: £10

Award-winning Nigerian-British writer, Yomi Sode, is the recipient of the 2019 Jerwood Compton Poetry Fellowship, and was shortlisted for the 2021 Brunel International African Poetry Prize. Join Sode in this profound and moving debut of Manorism, a poetic examination of the lives of black British men and boys. Sode’s remarkable work explores themes of family, survival, generational trauma, and the complexities of belonging. Supported by Nottingham’s GOBS Collective.

Poets Off The Endz
When: Saturday 27 May, 7-10pm
Where: Lakeside Arts, University Park
How much: Free

Jah Digga, Nottingham’s very own musical artist and curator of Poets off the Endz, invites you to join him for his yearly poetry event. Born from a YouTube series of the same name, Poets off the Endz aims to break down barriers to engagement and participation in poetry and spoken word for young people across Nottingham. The event promises to be a night of powerful energy through spoken word, poetry and live music with some of the UK’s finest poets.

Brian Bilston
When: Saturday 27 May, 2-5pm
Where: The Old Cold Store
How much: £15

Hiding his identity behind the pen name Brian Bilston, the faceless poet has been likened to Banksy and described as Twitter’s unofficial Poet Laureate. Accumulating over 200,000 followers on social media, Brian is truly beloved by the online community. Therefore, it was no surprise that the Poetry Festival added a second show due to its popular demand. Get your ticket now to avoid disappointment!
