Forest Live, the summer concert series presented by Forestry England, has announced that Nile Rodgers and Sting will both perform at Sherwood Pines this June. They are the first artists to be announced in the series, which takes place in unique forest settings around England...
The legendary Sting will be lighting up Sherwood Pines on Sunday 23 June with his special My Songs 2024 concert. Accompanied by an electric rock ensemble, My Songs 2024 is an exuberant and dynamic show featuring his most beloved songs, written throughout Sting’s illustrious career with The Police and as a solo artist. Fans can expect to hear Englishman In New York, Every Breath You Take, Roxanne, Message In A Bottle and many more.
Musical pioneers Nile Rodgers & CHIC will bring the ultimate party to Sherwood Pines on Friday 21 June with support from British singer-songwriter Sophie Ellis-Bextor and 80s inspired contemporary pop band Deco. Nile Rodgers is a Rock'n'Roll Hall of Fame inductee and a multiple Grammy Award-winning songwriter, composer, producer, arranger, and guitarist. As the co-founder of CHIC, Nile pioneered a musical language that generated chart-topping hits like Le Freak, the biggest selling single in the history of Atlantic Records and sparked the advent of hip-hop with Good Times and Rapper’s Delight.
Anne-Marie will be performing at Sherwood Pines on Saturday 22 June 2024, marking her second consecutive edition of Forest Live following a sold-out show at Thetford earlier this year. She entered the music scene in 2015; her first solo album Speak Your Mind was the UK’s biggest-selling debut of 2018 and spawned the international anthems 2002 (co-written with Ed Sheeran) and FRIENDS alongside Marshmello.
The follow-up album Therapy built on her phenomenal success with singles such as Kiss My (Uh-Oh) with Little Mix and Don't Play with KSI and Digital Farm Animals. The Essex-born star is also a former three-time world karate champion and alongside her industrious recording schedule and sold-out headline tours, released a documentary, How To Be Anne-Marie, and appeared as a coach on Saturday night prime time show, The Voice. She reigns supreme as a fearless Gen Z role model.
Forestry England uses the money Forest Live raises to maintain these beautiful natural areas for everyone to enjoy, run important conservation projects and keep growing trees. Last year they planted some 7.4 million trees, caring for the nation’s 1,500 woods and forests sustainably and welcoming 291 million visits in 2022-23. Everyone in England lives within a one-hour drive of one of the nation’s forests. Over two million people have enjoyed the Forest Live gigs over the last twenty-three years. This year, they present the concerts in partnership with Live Nation’s Cuffe & Taylor for the first time.
Sherwood Pines is the largest public woodland in the East Midlands and one of the county’s most well-known forests. Gigs will also take place at five other forests throughout England – Delamere, Dalby, High Lodge Thetford, Westonbirt Arboretum and Cannock Chase.
