Ah, the Malt Cross. We all love to step in from time to time for a lovely pint and to soak up the old stories stored in the walls of the Victorian music hall. Not only have they recently opened up all the historical caves beneath for tours and the like, but they’ve also opened their arms for donations in their annual Malt Cross Food Bank Christmas Appeal.

It’s been going since 2012, but with an increased requirement from communities struggling to make ends meet in Nottingham recently, they now need your help more than ever. They’re after one last final push before the closing date for donations – Monday 21 December.

So whether you’re part of a company who could lend a hand, or an individual braving the shops over the weekend, spread a little Christmas joy and dob them:

  • Tins
  • Packets
  • Jars
  • Chocolates
  • Games
  • Gifts
  • Vouchers and coupons
  • Cash

Anything you can give will be greatly appreciated.

We have a favour to ask

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
