This week sees one of the most exciting bands of the new millenium arriving in Nottingham
The White Stripes are enigmatic pale skinned pair Jack and Meg White. Variously assumed to be husband and ex-wife or brother and sister, the duo have remained elusive about their exact relationship and concentrated on making quality music together.

In 2001 they first came to chart prominence with the infectious 'Fell in love with a girl' and the following album White Blood Cells ensured them a place in the an exciting new back to basics scene. Last years Elephant was eagerly anticipated and did not dissapoint. With it's flagship single '7 Nation army' it was acclaimed as album of the year by everyone from the NME to News Of The World.
At times the duo have actively and cleverly contributed to the controversy that surrounds them. Judging from their rapport and physical similarity it was a logical step to assume them to be brother and sister. The matter was confused, however, by Jack White stating that the couple were once married and posting a marriage license and divorce certificate on the Internet.
Because of their elusiveness, their uniqueness and their high quality tunes it's likely that The White Stripes' star will continue to rise. It's not often that a band of their stature comes to your back yard and if you're one of the lucky few with tickets then enjoy!
