Children of Zeus is a low-fi, hip hop infused soul project consisting of two of Manchester’s most respected artists – Konny Kon and Tyler Daley. DJ, MC and beatmaker Konny Kon is perhaps best known for being one third of Broke’N’English alongside DRS and Strategy. On the other hand, Tyler Daley, a.k.a “Hoodman”, has gone from being an MC and actor to becoming one of the most in demand soul singers of recent times, lending his vocals and writing abilities to music from huge names including Goldie, Soul II Soul’s Caron Wheeler, Lisa Mafia, Lenzman, LSB, Bugsy Malone, and more.
Kon and Daley have differentiated themselves by incorporating their love of soul music into their hip-hop roots, creating a really unique mix of the two worlds. Credited as bringing soul music back to the Manchester scene, which had been previously dominated by drum and bass, grime and bass music, it’s no wonder Children Of Zeus have built up a loyal fan base across the country and beyond.
They duo have been releasing fantastic music independently as well as via labels such as First World Records, responsible for their most recent album Travel Light, which includes a beat produced by Notts rapper, Juga-Naut. Juga-Naut will be joining other respected local names such as Harleighblu, Karizma and jazz artist, Jack Wolff as well as DJ support from DJ Scratch Fever, when OnPoint bring this talented group to Metronome for what looks to be a fusion of the finest Manchester and Nottingham talent. Excited is an understatement.
