Words: The LeftLion Team
Monday 30 March 2020
reading time: min, words

We normally bring you our pick of events that you can pop along to in Nottingham - however, for obvious reasons we can’t do that. Instead, we’ve rounded up some cracking stuff you can do from the comfort of your home…

Zumba With Lucy

When? Monday - Friday at 5.30pm for kids, Saturday and Sunday at 1pm for adults
Where? Zoom
What? Ah, that fitness dance craze you always meant to give a go. Now you ain’t got an excuse, with online classes every day of the week. If a run around the block isn’t your cup of exercise char, then this upbeat exercise may just be your new favourite workout. Burn off that packet of biscuits and actually get that summer bod that everyone on Twitter keeps promising they’ll have by the end of this, and feel proper smug.

When? Wednesday 1 April and Friday 3 April, 11am
Where? Facebook
What? It’s tipping it outside, so why not get your raindrops inside? Actually, you can’t - Johnny is without his Raindrops until this is all over. In the meantime, he’s putting on weekly tiddlywink friendly shows to help your kids get that music fix. He’s even taking song requests and shout outs, so you can get your all starstuck. Kinda. Either way, he’s sure to bring you pockets full of sunshine.

Light Hustle

When? Saturday 4 April, 3pm
Where? Facebook
What? The event is going ahead as a livestream festival, with the original line up of artists playing from their own homes. They will also be joined by some juicy names from the Notts music scene, including Rob Green and Nina Smith. It was originally supposed to be a fundraiser for Youth Music - the national charity that funds Circle of Light. Now, the livestream gig is hoping to raise £5000 for a newly launched fund in support of Nottinghamshire’s creative freelancers. Our musicians deffo need your love and support right now, and we're sure they'd appreciate anything you can give.

We have a favour to ask

LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
