Nottingham's biggest live venue are welcoming people back with the biggest competition in their history...
Motorpoint Arena have announced a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for one lucky person to bag themselves two tickets to every event on their calendar for the twelve months after they reopen. Nottingham's biggest live-music venue, which has welcomed the likes of comedians Ricky Gervais and Chris Rock, singers Ed Sheeran, Elton John and Lady Gaga and boxer Carl Froch for his 2012 fight with Yusaf Mack, is gearing up to welcome the public back through its doors after being closed for live events during the pandemic. The winner will receive two tickets for every concert, comedy show and family event for an entire year which, once they've announced the rest of their 2021/22 schedule will be over 75 events.
To be in with a chance to win, you just have to sign up to their mailing list with a valid and active email address between Monday 19 April and Saturday 31 July, which will see you automatically entered into the prize draw. If you're already signed up to their newsletters, you just have to log into your Motorpoint Arena account to check that your details are up-to-date via the competition email they'll be sending out this week, which will automatically enter you into the draw.
With live events still at a standstill following over a year of the COVID pandemic, Motorpoint Arena's scheduled re-opening is in line with the Government's guidelines; the Event Research Programme, which is trying to find ways in which large events can return safely, is hosting a number of pilot events, the results of which are due in late May.
Currently, Motorpoint Arena's potential schedule of returning events includes welcoming legendary soul group The Drifters to Nottingham on Sunday 11 July, Waterloo: The Best of Abba on 23 July, Dreamboys on 30 July, A Vision of Elvis on July 31 and Beyond the Barricade on 1 August. Later in the year, you can look forward to catching London Grammar on Tuesday 2 November and Sleaford Mods on Saturday 27 November.
