Monday 07 November 2022
reading time: min, words

Adam Kay, Alan Carr and an important exhibition are also coming to the city this week...

Football Manager Therapy
When: Monday 7 November, 7pm
Where: Canalhouse
How much: £5

Have you taken Notts County from the Conference to the Champions League final, only to lose it to a 92nd-minute Erling Haaland screamer? Well, you’re probably not the only one. Bask in your sorrows with Tony Jameson (Football Manager Ruined My Life) and Rich Owens, as they talk about their 25-year addiction to football management simulators - and all the highs and lows they bring…

Adam Kay This Is Going To Hurt… More
When: Wednesday 9 November, 7.30pm
Where:Royal Concert Hall
How much: £27.50 - £47.50

After rising to success with his 2017 book (and subsequent BBC show) This is Going to Hurt, Adam Kay is now touring with stories from his new book Undoctored. Once again sharing tales from his experiences as a junior doctor, the former medic and current comedian wowed crowds with his previous stage performance, described by the Mail on Sunday as ‘Blissfully Brilliant.’

Pussy Riot
When: Thursday 10 November, 6.30pm
Where: Rescue Rooms
How much: £20

Feminist protest and performance punk rockers Pussy Riot are coming to Nottingham’s Rescue Rooms this November. Known for their provocative style, the group aren’t afraid of controversial subjects - with lyrics regularly featuring anti-Putin sentiments, alongside supporting LGBT+ and feminist rights. Made famous through their guerilla shows, the energy here promises to be amazing.

Nick Turner Art: Exhibition & Auction
When: Saturday 12 November, from 3pm
Where: The Chameleon
How much: Free

Commemorating the legendary life of artist and The Chameleon landlord Nick Turner, the venue will host a special exhibition and auction of the Nottingham icon’s work on Saturday, with all proceeds going to the British Heart Foundation and the Alzheimer's Society. Stop by for an evening of remembering Nick, celebrating his art, and perhaps taking home a piece yourself.

Alan Carr - Regional Trinket
When: Saturday 12 November, 8pm
Where: Royal Concert Hall
How much: £27.50

Chatty man Alan Carr is back on the road four years after his last tour, and he’s using his trademark comedic style to dive into some slightly deeper topics, like finding happiness and joy in the small things. Quite a bit’s changed since he was last in our city, so there’ll be plenty to cover - and plenty of laughs along the way. Isn’t that nice?
