Austentatious - The Improvised Jane Austen Novel
Fed up of seeing one Jane Austen adaptation after another grace our local theatre stages? Well this here is a Austen novel like you’ve never set your peepers on before. A cast of the country’s quickest comedy performers are ready to introduce you to a new ‘lost’ Austen novel… one that’s based on nothing more than a title suggested by the audience. Past ‘lost’ masterpieces have included Sixth Sense and Sensibility, Double 0 Darcy and Mansfield Shark… yer get the gist. Their improvised comedy plays have proved popular all over the UK, as they’ve just returned fresh from six sell out runs at Edinburgh Fringe Festival and were even featured in a BBC Radio 4 special to mark the bicentenary of Austen’s death. Performed in period costumes with live musical accompaniment, yer can’t ask for much more. Bound to delight Austen lovers and novices alike.

Form a Band and Film Screening
JT Soar understand that there is many a band in Notts that are in need of a new drummer after their latest one threw in the towel, or a singer with the voice of an angel looking for a guitarist to add vibes to their acoustic ballads. And that’s why they’re throwing a shindig where all you music types can get together and make some magic happen. They’ll be open decks and cables all night so you can show off your skills and share ideas with others, and at 8.30pm they’ll be a screening of We Jam Econo, an inspiring punk documentary to get those creative juices flowing. Send ‘em a message telling ‘em you’re gonna pop along and what instrument you play, just so they can get a good variety of instruments in the mix. There’s a promise of some nibbles, and it’s free to attend, but it would be mighty fine of yers if you could bring along some stuff to whack in the St Anns and Sneinton Food Bank.
