The Poetry Hour Tour with Henry Normal
As if Mr Normal hasn’t been treating us ‘nuff lately - he’s only putting on another poetry festival after all - he’s also doing a goodun’ by giving us an early dose of his wise and witty words. He’ll be visiting ten Inspire libraries throughout the end of the month with a host of special guests to wet our appetite for the madness that’s set to come in April. You don’t wanna miss out.

The Power of Darkness
Television Workshop’s annual play season is coming to an end, and we’re a bit gutted. We’ve managed to catch a performance of each play this year, and have been dead impressed by the talented little boggers. This final installment is set in late nineteenth century rural Russia and follows Nikita, a labourer for a “well-to-do” farmer, and his mother, Matryona, trying desperately to escape this oppressive poverty, and sinking to dark depths to do so. This 1886 tragic drama was written by Russian writer Leo Tolstoy and is sure to chill yer to the bone.
Tuesday 27 - Saturday 31 March, 7.30pm, £5 - £10, The Television Workshop, event link

Notts In A Nutshell showcases the best from musicians around town, whether their new to the scene or local legends that just fancy having a strum down The Maze. It’s simple; sink some pints, hear some turns and support YOUR local scene.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
