Plenty to be gerrin on with...
The Eclectic Band
Instead of ending your Friday night near passed-out on the floor of Weatherspoons after one too many, settle down for a evening of smooth jazz at The Canalhouse. The Eclectic Band will be there, playing tracks from their new album alongside some of their older corkers and a few funky covers that they’ve been working hard on. If your in ta yer musicianship, improvisation and the best jazz fusion around, this one’s for you. It’ll leave you with that plinky-plunky music ticking rahnd your bounce all weekend long, and that’s much better than a head pounding hangover.

Kushi-Ya X Cottonmouth
Ever since they launched in September 2017, Kushi-ya’s japanese inspired supper clubs have been consistent sell outs. In fact, they’ve been so popular that the last three sold out in under an hour, leaving us doubting if we’d ever get our tegs around a Beef Tataki. But there’s some good news for all us slow-coaches, as Kushi-Ya will be tekkin over the kitchen in Hockley’s newest hotspot, Cottonmouth, for a whole weekend. They’ll be serving up a range of konro grill skewers and other small plates that are all inspired by japanese bar foods. Wash it all down with the tipples from the japanese inspired cocktail-menu and we’ll all be dancing ‘til dawn. See you there.
Friday 2 - Saturday 3 March, 3pm-11pm, free, Cottonmouth, event link
Jonjo + Others
Local lad Jonjo and his band are gearing up for their debut show, where they’ll be tekking to the stage alongside hip-hop hippy Motormouf for a night of infectious tunes, lyrical genius and all rahnd good times. Musically, you can also expect the likes of Moscow dweller Rye Shabby, Leeds’ Space Dolphin and electro-pop dreamboat Susan. But that’s not all, folks. On the night, Jonjo and pals will also be welcoming Leeds based photographer Alec Aarons and his ‘anontmity’ exhibition to the upstairs of Rough Trade. Listen to some tunes, browse some artwork and start yer weekend off the right way.
