What? The Outdoor Theatre is back at Newstead Abbey, this time with The Midnight Gang. The play is based on the David Walliams book where a boy, involved in an accident, wakes up to discover that he is in a hospital, and at midnight he and his fellow patients try to brighten the place up.

What? Back for a ninth year, Macmillan Fest will have over 62 acts playing across Notts. Headlined by Black Peaks, the festival is all for a good cause, with proceeds going towards Macmillan Cancer Support.

Nottingham Fixers: Repair Cafe
When? Saturday 1 September, 2pm – 5pm
Where? Sherwood Methodist Church
What? The Nottingham Fixers, a group of community volunteers, are coming to the Sherwood Methodist on Saturday 1 September. This snazzy idea involves yer bringing your broken household bits and bobs to be fixed. There’s also gonna be a pop-up café serving drinks and cakes, just to keep them sugar levels up.

The Vintage Carnival

Where? Nottingham Racecourse
What? Back at Notts Racecourse for the third year running, the vintage carnival is a marvelous way to bring in September. With vintage shopping, classic car displays, and street food, The Vintage Carnival is a proper quality family day out.

The Lord of Milan
When? Sunday 2 September, 8.15pm
Where? Broadway Cinema
What? Back again at Broadway, The Lord of Milan looks back at the life of Herbert Kilpin, the Notts born co-founder of famous footy club AC Milan. The film starts by exploring the relationship between Notts County and Juventus supporters. From then on, you are transported between Nottingham and Milan, with plenty of heartwarming moments to warm yer cockles. Even if you ain’t footy mad, it’s definitely worth a watch. Plus, it was made by the LeftLion team. So there.
