Nab yerself proper authentic food without the hassle of travelling to another place.
Nottingham Street Food Club
Up the stairs and right at the back of the intu Victoria shopping Centre, you will find an entire street food market. They’re always on the hunt for the best independent street food, and they rotate stalls weekend, allowing some of the best local traders from around Nottingham to showcase new and vibrant foods. One brand that regularly hangs out there is Homeboys, which is owned by Masterchef finalist Pete Hewitt. They also pop on other events around the city, such as hosting street food stalls in Sneinton market, so keep your peepers open for them too.
Zaap Thai Street Food
Looking for the most authentic street food? Walk into Zaap and you will feel like you've traveled the world and have done exactly that. With street signs, crazy decoration and even a full size tuk tuk parked inside you'll feel like you've been transported to the streets of Bangkok. Make sure you can handle your spices as this place aims to pack you with the punches and then some. From 11-6 you can bag yourself two courses for a tenner, or even three courses for twelve pounds if you’re feeling particularly peckish.
Mowgli Street Food
What's better than eating food at lunchtime? Eating food on a swing! This is no typical curry house; this is a restaurant filled with large flavours and honest Indian street food, served on perfectly Instagramable plates. The founder Nisha Katona opened the Mowgli brand in 2014 and still insists on hand picking and training her new chefs herself. She calls herself ‘a dedicated curry evangelist’, so we guess she thinks she’s some kind of curry Jesus. You’ll have to decide for yourself if she performs food miracles.
Clean Cut Kitchen
This has all the fast food quickness with all the street food but with a twist; everything is organically sourced so you don't have to worry about it. You can nab yourselves power salads, protein boxes, wholemeal wraps and more. All their food comes out deliciously presented, and as their menu says, ‘if you don’t gram it, did it really happen?’. They’ve got two locations now; one opposite Maccies in Viccy C and one at the bottom of Derby Road. So you can’t use convenience as an excuse not to eat healthy. Sorry.
WOLF Italian
This Italian street food gaff is right off the corner of Old Market Square, making it ideal for grabbing and going for a sit down with some tasty grub. You can pick and mix various combos, such as building up either a piada, salad or pasta with combos such as deli meats, mediterranian veg and rosemary steak. Then, you can choose your own saucey sauce like pomodoro or parmesan alfredo, and after that just let the WOLF gang do their magic. Whatever you choose, it’s sure to be bellissimo.
