Looking at real crimes with real evidence, the Crime Club is an opportunity to learn all about famous crimes from the past. This week the club will be casting its eye back to the early 1800’s, when the Luddites came to Nottingham, investigating the hanging of Daniel Diggle in 1817. For all you local history buffs, this is a chance to learn all about this radical group, while also enjoying a bit of true crime.

Starting this Friday, Nottingham Comedy Festival is returning to the city. Featuring local and national comedians, the festival will take place in pubs all over Nottingham and go on until the end of November. With tickets starting at £3, the festival is accessible to all and promises to be a great laugh.

Sweet, sad and graceful, Alice Robbins has a beautiful folky voice that combines strength and fragility. After the success of her 2019 EP Lavender Honey, Robbins released the moody single G.D.F.S in 2020. Now the singer is heading to Nottingham this Friday for a show at The Bodega, supported by Catmilk. Pushing the boundaries between the physical and digital world, Surge is an immersive dance performance that takes place in a digitally projected landscape. Choreographed by Tom Dale, and featuring dance and vocals by Jemima Brown, the show has been described as a ‘concept album’ live on stage. Taking place this Saturday, the performance is an intriguing one.

Tucked away in the Lace Market, Debbie Bryan is a tea room and creative space where you can spend a cosy afternoon. This Sunday you can turn your hand to floristry with a wreath making workshop taught by the Debbie Bryan team. Accompanied by tea, coffee and pastries, this sounds like a wholesome way to spend your Sunday.
