Following the release of their new EP We Were Strangers, Weird Milk are heading to Nottingham this Monday. Inspired by sixties icons like The Beatles and The Beach Boys, alongside the likes of Alex Turner, Weird Milk are a modern indie band with vintage inspirations. Sitting happily in-between pop and rock, their music is fun, melodic, and perfect for a venue like The Bodega.

Self Esteem

When: Thursday 25 November, 7pm

Where: Metronome

How Much? £15

Known for bops like Moody, Prioritise Pleasure and I Do This All The Time, Rebecca Lucy Taylor (aka Self Esteem) is playing at the Metronome this Thursday. Celebrating womanhood, confidence, and owning your body, the tour follows Self Esteem’s highly praised new album Prioritise Pleasure. Catchy, inspiring, and unapologetic, Self Esteem is a force to be reckoned with.

Admiral Fallow

When: Friday 26 November, 7pm

This week is a full on one in the Notts music scene, but make sure not to forget Admiral Fallow this Friday at The Metronome. Touring the UK with their fourth album The Idea of You, the Glasgow based band are most well known for their Scottish folky sound. With new songs including Sleepwalking, Electric Eyes and Tuesday Grey, the band plays with mixing folk and synth. The result is simply lovely.

Banff Ocean Film Festival

When: Saturday 27 November, 7.30pm

Where: Nottingham Playhouse

How Much? £15.50

Scary or intriguing? The one thing we can agree on is that the ocean is massive, and largely unknown. You can however learn a little more about the deep blue this weekend at the Ocean Film Festival. Screening this Saturday at the Nottingham Playhouse, you can catch a series of carefully curated short films centred around surfers, paddlers, divers and oceanographers.
