The Darkness

Where: Rock City

First formed in 2000, The Darkness are a rock band most famous for their 2003 song I Believe in a Thing Called Love. After a brief breakup, the group got back together in 2011 and have been pumping out music ever since. Now they’re heading to Nottingham this Monday to celebrate the release of their latest album Motorheart.

The Muppets Christmas Carol

Where: Royal Concert Hall 

When: Tuesday 14 December, 7.30pm

How Much? £30-£68

For a film that’s populated largely by muppets, Brian Henson’s 1992 film is oddly loyal to Charles Dickens' original story. Streaming live at the Royal Concert Hall, this classic Christmas tale will be accompanied by music from the Novello Orchestra. Perfect for adults and children alike, this is sure to be a festive evening.

Sir Ranulph Fiennes: Living Dangerously

Where: Royal Concert Hall

When: Friday 17 December, 7.30pm

How Much? £30-35 

Named as the world’s ‘greatest living explorer’ by the Guinness Book of World Records, Sir Ranulph Fiennes is a British explorer, most well known for climbing the highest mountain on all seven continents. Fiennes is taking to the stage in Nottingham to reminisce about his life, spanning from his childhood, to his greatest adventures. A night of inspiration awaits.

Just the Tonic Christmas Special

Where: The Metronome 

When: Saturday 18 December, 7pm

How Much? £17.50

Christmas is meant to be the time of laughter and joy, so why not wander on down to The Metronome for Just the Tonic Christmas Special. Featuring Kate Martin, alongside a whole crew of other comedians, the Christmas Special promises to have you laughing all night.

19th Annual Christmas Covers Party

Where: The Bodega 

When: Saturday 18 December, 7.30pm

How Much? £8.25 

Nottingham’s Christmas covers party is back on at the Bodega. Featuring eight different bands, the ensemble will be covering your favourite pop songs to raise money for charity. With all the money going to Nottinghamshire Hospice and Nottingham and Notts refugee forum, the event is for a good cause.
