If you cast your mind back to Liverpool, the year 1980, you might remember the first album release of English rock band Echo and The Bunnymen. Now, over forty years later, the band are still out on the road with an impressive backlog of albums including Crocodiles, Porcupine, Ocean Rain, and more. Important to the music landscape, the band has been cited as inspiration for the likes of Coldplay, The Killers, and the Flaming lips. Catch them this Thursday in Nottingham, playing at Rock City.

Drawing inspiration from soul, R&B, indie, rock, and gospel, Rob Green is a writer and singer hailing from Nottingham. Most known for his soulful voice, it’s no surprise that Green has opened for musicians such as Earth Wind and Fire and Eric Bibb, alongside the Whitney Houston Hologram Tour. He is however the main attraction this Friday, as he plays his own set at the Bodega. Celebrating his 2021 Single Sleeping On My Own, this should be a cosy little gig.

There’s nothing we love more than a Nottingham special, and that’s exactly what’s happening at Rough Trade this Friday. Headlined by ELMZ XIX, you can look forward to a best of Notts rap show, featuring Omari Marsalis, Maugz, Thabiso, JayaHadaDream and Black Max. With doors open from 7pm, this is a great opportunity to discover some up and coming Nottingham talent, alongside established artists.

All you drum and bass heads will already know Andy C. DJ, record producer, and founder of RAM records, Andy C is a bit of an icon in the drum and bass industry. Known for tracks like Right Here, Ghost, Get Free, and Heartbeat Loud, the artist has a reputation for being one of the best in the game. You can spot him in Nottingham this Saturday, performing at The Brickworks.

In honour of their brand new album Small World, electronic pop group Metronomy are playing a string of Rough Trade gigs, including one in the Nottingham location. Showcasing songs from the album, including Life and Death, Things will be fine, and It’s good to be back, the show is set to be an intimate first taste for fans. There will also be an opportunity for a signing later in the evening.
