Bringing science to the masses, the Festival of Science and Curiosity begins this Monday. After a predominantly online schedule for their 2021 event, this year’s festival will be taking place at a series of venues across the city. From a make your own virus workshop, to a lesson on space race, there are plenty of events for adults and children alike. Starting this Monday, it’s worth checking out.
The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time

Inspired by Mark Haddon’s bestselling book, The Curious Incident of the Dog in the Night Time is coming to the Theatre Royal stage this Tuesday. Telling the story of fifteen year old Christopher as he solves the mystery of the neighbour's dead dog, you can expect a production that is both thought-provoking and tender. Directed by Marianne Elliot and starring David Breeds as Christopher, this play promises to be iconic.

First emerging in the punk rock haze of the 1970’s, The Stranglers are one of the longest surviving bands in the UK punk scene. Now the group are coming to Nottingham this week to play at our very own Rock City. From the band that gave us seminal rock songs like Peaches and Golden Brown, this isn’t one to miss.

Most well known for songs Pompeii and Things we Lost in the Fire, the pop rock band Bastille are coming to Nottingham this Wednesday. As part of their intimate sessions tour, the band will be playing at The Level, giving us a taste of their brand new album Give Me the Future.

Celebrating the weird and wonderful thing that is human sexuality, SMUT presents a night of storytelling and spoken word poetry. Whether a love letter read aloud, or an erotic limerick, SMUT is an open mic night for anyone over the age of eighteen.

For those of you that like to know a bit more about your beer than how quickly you can get it down you, events like this might be up your street. Lenton Lane are, as you might expect, a Nottingham-based brewery, and at this event you can turn up and have a pint with the person who made the beer. There’s likely to be at least half a dozen beers to try, so we recommend starting with a half. Also worth checking out the food pairings.

Known for sing alongs, mosh pits, and head banging, Bicurious are an experimental rock two piece, headed to Nottingham this Friday. Performing at JT Soar, you can look forward to a sound that sits somewhere between math-rock and post-rock. Often sampling the voices of political figures, the group takes a stab at injustice in Ireland (and beyond.)
