You’ve spent the bank holiday drinking too much, maybe you feel a little bit hungover, a little bit bad about yourself. So why not offset it with a community book event? Very wholesome, for a good cause, it’s sure to make you feel almost like a person again. Rescuing old books and selling them at cheap prices for charity, Ex Libris are enriching us all and stopping landfill. Oh, and they also wear masks, we aren’t sure why.

We’ve cancelled fast fashion. We’re over it. It’s bad for the planet, it’s a waste of our money, and it’s ethically suspicious to say the least. But what’s the alternative? Well, how about a clothes swap? Taking place this Thursday at Metronome, you can bring along your old forgotten clothes for a chance to raid the rails of fellow swappers. Great for all you sustainably minded people, and an affordable option to regular shopping.

Hosted by the Cult Film Club, this Thursday is the chance to get nostalgic for a golden age. Drinks and snacks will be available.

We have a favour to ask
LeftLion is Nottingham’s meeting point for information about what’s going on in our city, from the established organisations to the grassroots. We want to keep what we do free to all to access, but increasingly we are relying on revenue from our readers to continue. Can you spare a few quid each month to support us?
