A Working Class Celebration of the Lockdown Diaries

Aiming to overcome what they describe as a “position of ‘lack’”, a group of passionate working-class creatives have banded together to release a new book, A Working Class Celebration of the Lockdown Diaries. Inside, 47 writers and six artists combine to create a visually stunning and truly powerful illustration of life during the pandemic. Head on over to Rough Trade for a special launch event, featuring poetry, music, and an introduction from writer Lisa Mckenzie.

Chinese Write Now: Sue Cheung in Conversation

Helping to kick off Lakeside’s Chinese Write Now Festival is award-winning writer and illustrator Sue Cheung, who stops by (digitally, at least) to discuss her life growing up in a Nottingham takeaway and how it inspired her books. Interviewed by members of the Nottingham UNESCO City of Literature Youth Panel, Cheung will dive into her popular releases including Chinglish and Maddy Yip’s Guide to Life and Summer.
