The Clones

Nottingham’s popular improv duo The Clones are back with a bang this week, taking over Lord Roberts for a night of unpredictable chaos. With no script, no staging and only a pair of chairs for a set, they rely on audience participation to guide their performances - making this one of the most engaging nights of theatre around. If you enjoy the unexpected, this is the event for you.

We’ve got too many up-and-coming artists to keep tabs on here in Nottingham, but the eNGine Room Label Showcase is one way to discover some of the stand-outs. Spotlighting the unique sound of performers like ALT BLK ERA and Jack Chapman, this four-hour special event will be hosted by BBC Introducing’s Dean Jackson, and is your way to discover the next big star before anyone else.

Notts Creatives Pub Quiz

Nottingham’s a creative city, but how are our creatives meant to network with each other? The simple answer is - join forces for a bloody good pub quiz. As well as getting the chance to revel in the pure joy of taking home a pub quiz title, you can also meet local artists, performers, and creatives from around the city, as well as getting to know Nonsuch and learn more about their great work.

We’ll take any excuse to go and visit the historic town of Newark - and the Newark Book Festival is as good an excuse as any. Now in its sixth year, the festival is on a mission to celebrate Nottingham’s literary community and the local area - and will feature exciting events including competitions, arts projects, and talks from writer-in-residence Sarah Ann Juckes. If you’re a lit head, head on out there later this week.

Repton Filmfest '22

Enjoy festivals but hate books? Repton Filmfest ‘22 has you covered. Perfect for both filmmakers wanting to expand their networks and film fans wanting an enjoyable weekend in glorious surroundings, the festival promises to bring a global big screen event to the East Midlands. As well as holding awards for short films submitted from across the UK and beyond, Repton will host talks from Emmy-winning documentarian Antony Thomas and BAFTA-nominated screenwriter Nigel Douglas, as well as many other celebrity guests.
