Bringing dance to the city and beyond, Nottdance are hosting a month-long festival during October. Boasting events that include both workshops and performances, you can enjoy pieces such as The Nutcracker, Dog Rising and It Begins in Darkness, alongside classes on physical connection, transformation and much more. A Pint and a Half of Vinyl

Where: Barley Twist

The legendary John Holmes - BBC broadcaster extraordinaire - has launched a brand new monthly beer and vinyl club. Taking place at Castle Rock’s Barley Twist pub, this event brings together two Nottingham institutions for a night of music, chat and beer - what more could you ask for?

Castle Rock have a busy week, it turns out. The day after A Pint and a Half of Vinyl, they’re back for the final instalment in their collaboration with Emperor's Brewery, with this one-off special auction evening giving you the chance to take part in an exclusive and mega-limited edition Storming the Emperor's Castle Collection prize draw. Nottingham Playhouse is the place to be later this week; they’re also hosting Montana’s greatest graduate since Hannah, as American comic Rich Hall comes to town. With a guaranteed evening of rants, knife-edge observations, thrilling musical interludes and an ever-formidable knack for laughs on the fly, Hall always delivers a one-of-a-kind show.

Nottingham Global Roots Present More Fyah – Temperature Rising!
When: Saturday 8 October, 7pm

If you can believe it, it’s the Nottingham Playhouse once again! Celebrating music from Jamaica and West Africa, the Global Roots Festival is back in the city this weekend, bringing a performance from Reggae legends Lloyd Brown & The Riddimworks Band, as well as Senegalese Baye Fall artists Batch Gueye Band and Nottingham’s own Kaira Kafo, who will offer an exciting fusion of music and dance inspired by West Africa.
