Take a trip down memory lane with Dunstan Bruce, the former frontman of hit eighties rock band Chumbawamba, as he embarks on a personal voyage of rediscovery, redemption, and reawakening. Recounting the untold story of the band’s successes and failures, Bruce is visited by his alter ego, ‘Babyhead’, who forces him to confront his past in search for his long-lost anarchist mojo. Get (knocked) down to Broadway Cinema to watch this inspiring screening, followed by an exclusive Q&A with Bruce himself.

Confetti Charity Gig

Live music and fundraising go together like coffee and cake, so get ready to dance the night away at Confetti’s charity gig night at the Metronome. A number of amazing student artists and bands will be performing, such as Ada Blue, Rawshack, and Smokey Penny. Donations made will help the Disasters Emergency Committee continue to provide aid for people affected by disasters worldwide, such as the Turkey/Syria earthquakes. National Justice Museum: Darkness
When: Thursday 27 April, 5pm
Where: National Justice Museum

Dubbed ‘Photographer of the Decade’ by The Guardian in the 1980s, Brian Griffin’s newest exhibition, Darkness, launches at the National Justice Museum this week. Comprised of a fascinating selection of photographs displayed in unexpected locations around the venue, the immersive exhibition showcases portraits of people engaging with artefacts from the museum’s crime and punishment collection. Its launch night is expected to be popular, with the opportunity to hear about the project from Brian and the team, so book in advance to avoid disappointment.

May Day Market: Pagan Market for Beltane
When: Saturday 29 April, 11-5pm
Where: Sneinton Market Avenues
How much: Free

To mark the beginning of summer, fellow witches, artists, and crafters among us will emerge from their winter dens to take over Sneinton Market Avenues in celebration of May Day, or Beltane. Traders will line the streets to sell a wonderful variety of handmade products, including crystals, candles, knits, and jewellery. Make sure to head along and enjoy the festivities, with an afternoon full of music, dancing, and refreshments.
