The Hives: Signing

Rough Trade will be hosting a special in-store signing event with The Hives to celebrate the release of their new album. The Death of Randy Fitzsimmons will be the groups' sixth studio album, and ends the eleven year wait for eager fans. Tickets will include a physical copy of the album in your format of choice, that will be collected on the day.
Murderous Liaisons
When: Tuesday 15 - Saturday 19 August

Crime and mystery fans you’re in luck…Theatre Royal puts on another Colin McIntyre thriller this week, straight from Costa Del Sol! Professional safe-cracker Larry, gets stuck in-between a tumultuous marriage. Suzy is requesting him to steal her husband Alex’s diamonds and flee to Rio with her, whilst Alex hires Larry for a murder plot for her life insurance. An exciting and intertwining story of deceit, this nail-biter will leave you on a knifes-edge until the end.
The Pink Stink: Pop-up Art Exhibition
When: Wednesday 16th August

For one day only, witness a powerful collection from local artist, and clinical psychotherapist, Carleen Bentley. The exhibition examines the profound effects of internalised racism, when raised in a white-centric community, and learning how to heal from racial trauma. This artistic showcase explores the challenging themes through her childhood objects, delving into how they played a part in reinforcing stereotypes. We highly recommend you experience this thought-provoking, more-than-human perspective.
Illyria’s Open Air Theatre: Robin Hood

If you're needing something for the whole family - look no further! Nottingham’s favourite medieval enigma Robin Hood is back, to entertain the crowds with one of Illyria’s most popular titles. Adapted by Oliver Gray, Robin looks to relieve corrupt land-owners of their wealth, and take down the Sheriff of Nottingham. Audiences can expect a fast-moving, hilariously fun-packed show, complete with an interactive archery competition that is sure to have you cheering along.
Nottingham Free Summer Arts Programme - Freestyle Painting
When: Friday 18 August
Where: Tiger Community Hub

Tiger Community Hub’s wellbeing programme is putting on fun-filled, inclusive events to support the mental health of children this summer. Friday’s freestyle painting is all about using your imagination - there really is no right or wrong here! The event is open to all ages and abilities, including SEN young people, so let your creativity flow. Refreshments are provided (hot and cold drinks), and any donations will be gratefully accepted.
Bone Cult Album Launch Show
When: Saturday 19 August

Following the success of their 2020 debut album, Nottingham’s finest ‘Death-Electronica’ duo are back. Bone Cult invite you to join their brand-new album launch set this weekend. Known for their combination of distinctive masks, and spectacular light-shows, this is sure to be a unique experience. Fans of The Prodigy and Enter Shikari will particularly enjoy the energy they bring with their heavier sound. In the words of Steven Gullota (Brutal Resonance), “imagine if the chill dance vibes of Dance Punk had sex with the rhythms of The Prodigy, and got soaked with neon, and lots of tattoos.” I don’t know about you, but if that statement tells me anything, it's that we definitely don’t want to miss it!
Netherfield Pride

If you’re still reminiscing about this year's Nottingham Pride, then we’ve got you covered. Netherfield Pride returns for its second year, with a weekend-packed itinerary, all in support of the LGBTQIA+ community. This entirely self-funded celebration will feature a variety of stalls, live acts and resources. The main event is free to attend, and welcomes everyone to spread love and support of the community. Then for those of you that want even more, without breaking the bank, have no fear! Low-cost tickets (from £3) can be purchased for silent discos, a comedy night and even a swap shop in an inclusive and safe environment.
