This week, the legendary 70s musical will arrive on Nottingham stages with a dynamic, younger cast set to bring energy and passion to the classic story of Danny and Sandy. Directed by the artistic director of The Curve, Leicester, this production will almost certainly reignite audience passion for Grease, with all of the iconic songs included like Summer Nights, Greased Lightnin' and Hopelessly Devoted to You.

One of Notts' most well loved, monthly up-and-coming-comedy nights will return to the Canalhouse this week. Featuring a mix of established acts trying new material, and new acts that could be the next big thing, this evening isn't to be missed if you're in need of a good laugh on a summer night.

Experimental, East Midlands act Project Blackbird will bring their captivating, genre-spanning show to Peggy's Skylight this week. Having received acclaim from BBC six music and completed their first US tour last year, this band are consistently on-the-up, and will certainly provide an unmissable atmosphere in context of the authentic, jazz-club vibes of Peggy's Skylight.

Closing out Nottingham's summer music calendar with a bang, Live at the Hall is set to bring together a standout line-up of indie rockers, seeing performance from The Sherlocks, The Pigeon Detectives and Feeder, with Razorlight headlining - a band who this year will celebrate the 20th anniversary of their debut album. With the addition of Wollaton Park as a backdrop, all four performances are set to provide an unrivalled atmosphere for music lovers.

For the third instalment of Broadway Cinema and Lakeside Arts' collaborative, outdoor cinema events, they'll be showcasing Wonka, the acclaimed Timothee Chalamet flick helmed by the director of the Paddington films Paul King. Happening right next to the University Park lake, an ideal spot for an outdoor movie, this'll be a great way for film fans to see out August with a memorable, cinematic occasion.
