Only Fools and Horses The Musical

When: Mon 21 - Sat 26 April
Where: Royal Concert Hall

Based on John Sullivan’s British TV classic Only Fools and Horses, Sullivan’s son, Jim Sullivan, brings his original script and score for the musical adaptation from London’s West End to Nottingham’s Royal Concert Hall. Starring Philip Childs as Grandad, Sam Lupton as Del Boy and Tom Major as Rodney, Only Fools and Horses The Musical features music from duo Chas and Dave as well as the iconic theme tune we know and love. The show will take you on a nostalgic trip to working-class life on the familiar streets of Peckham with Britain’s beloved characters.

Gaia

When: Tue 22 - Sun 27 April
Where: Mansfield Palace Theatre
How much: Free

Artist Luke Jerram displays a six-meter replica of Earth, named Gaia, suspended on Mansfield Palace Theatre’s stage, offering the audience a peek into the magic of their backstage spaces. The interactive experience features an audio journey transforming listeners into astronauts, as it reflects on Mansfield’s local pride, heritage and natural habitats. Admiring Gaia from the balcony during General Admission times or up close in small groups, this exhibit is a celebration of the deep connection with our local spaces and places.

Jah Wobble & the Invaders of the Heart

Legendary bass player Jah Wobble visits Notts this month, accompanied by his long-time band Invaders of the Heart. A former member of Public Image Ltd, Jah Wobble (aka John Wardle) has also featured on music with the likes of U2, Sinead O’Connor and Bjork. He’s also one of the most self-assured artists and charismatic personalities you’ll find in UK music: a great choice for cutting a rug on what could otherwise be any other Thursday night.

Benefits

Where: The Bodega

Following the March release of their new album Constant Noise, the band Benefits is set to perform their rage-fueled, punk discography at The Bodega. The band’s previous album Nails, was a media success after being listed as one of the best albums of 2023 from big media names such as NME, BBC Radio 6 Music and Louder Than War. The band’s lead singer Kingsley Hall is known for captivating performances, and his performance at The Bodega is set to be just as enchanting.

Seas of Mirth

When: Friday 25 April
Where: Old Cold Store

One of Nottingham's most exciting and fun musical acts, groovy deep sea troubadours Seas of Mirth are back in town. Bringing theatrical hijinks and party vibes, they're hitting the stage at the Vat & Fiddle's Old Cold Store for one night only, with support from Bethlehem Casuals and The Barnacles. Featuring a fantastical array of stories weaved into their genre-fusing sound, LeftLion has intel that a four-metre tall LED octopus may be in attendance, so brush off the cabin fever, dust off your dancing shoes and head down for a boogie.
